Questions about deep wound and item costs
Please answer this:
1. How much does Grenth's Grasp cost? Scythe * Cold Dmg 9-41 (req. 9 Scythe Mastery) * Damage +15% (while Health is above 50%) * Health +30 2. When is best to apply deepwound in the case that it wont be removed? At the begining when target has more hp causing more hp loss or it does not matter. From what I know deep wound reduces curent hp so I think it's worthless to apply it when the foe is nearly dead. 3. Is reaper's scythe a good elite? To me it looks bad. Even the forms with their long recharge are more usefull. |

1. That's for the price check forum.
2. Deep wound is based on max health, so it's always the same, no matter what their current health is. 3. Reaper's Sweep is in no way bad. A nice amount of damage + deep wound (deep wound = 100 extra dmg vs a foe with 500hp). |

2-depend if you play pve or pvp.in pve few monsters if not at any will remove deepwound from themself or allyes.so no really matter.can at beginning like at end.personally prefer at beginning. in pvp it depend too.usually u have more than one condition on you in pvp, poison, cripple, bleeding ,deepwound, burn, disea etc etc.but usually they get removed all in once.if dont, the monk is a cupcake and the target die easily most probably spiked..... of course some monks will remove only one conditon for instance and heal for remaining ones so better apply more than one condition. but generally better aply deepwound at beginning so faster go down. 3-there's no elite called reaper's scythe. you probably meant reaper's sweep. it isnt bad.8sec isnt so long if you chain several atack skills.and dmg bonus is unconditionall and not negligible at opposit of certain other atack skills enchant dependant.and if your foe at half healh its good for quickly finish it as deepwound and nice dmg.but once again if you dont like dont use it.everyone have his opinion was just my point of view |

Deep Wound ( if you're sure it won't get removed ) should be applied ASAP.
[quote=GuildWiki]Condition. While suffering from this injury, your maximum Health is reduced by 20% and you receive less benefit from healing. [quote] Less healing = win. |

As stated by milkflopance, the hp reduction is based on max health rather than current health. However, it can't reduce the enemy health to less than 1. So, as long as the enemy has more than 100 health left (after dmg from the attack), you can use deep wound to its full effect.

actually, the deep wound will kill on the very next hit. It'll leave your opponent with basically 1 hp and just about anything will kill them from there.

To be precise, a deep wound will always have it's full effect, even with an opponent's current health of lower than 100.
As was stated before, a deep wound won't kill you, instead your health will be set to 1, if the deep wound would drop it below. So far so good. But still, your "real" health may actually be below 0, you may be dead without knowing it, so to speak. Example: Your max. health is 500, your current health is 10. When a deep wound is applied, your health would be set to 1, while it actually is -90. Now, the next effect that changes your health, be it further damage or a heal will make the game check your actual health. So, if you're at -90, like in the example and are healed for anything less than 90, this heal will kill you! Ever experienced any mystery death where someone just died after the fight was already over? |

its very persoanl when to apply deepwound. In the beginning it provides a good mechanistic, as healing that target is 20% less efficient, and has effictively max 100 health less, so less buffer. However restore condition does a massive heal removing your advantage.
Alternatively, u may use at to kill of a target, apply deepwound with an attack, doing up to some 200 damage due DW, and have other degen applied at the same time as well, like bleeding or apply poison, this will cause "instant" death. This is much like the phantom pain spike; apply phantom pain and immeadiately shatter it with shatter delusions (mesmer) giving some 170 damage, DW is applied first and then shatter does additional damage. This provides good means to effectively kill character near 30% health. Its up to you what u like best. Last edited by Patrick Smit; May 07, 2007 at 10:31 AM // 10:31.. |
